Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Reflection
Matthew 11:28 speaks directly to the heart of anyone who feels weary, burdened, or overwhelmed by life. There are moments when your struggles feel too heavy to carry. You may be tired from fighting battles no one else sees, worried about the future, hurt by what has happened, or simply exhausted from trying to stay strong.
But Jesus does not ask you to carry every burden by yourself. He says, “Come to me.” This is a personal invitation from Jesus to bring your worries, fears, pain, and exhaustion to Him.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you come to Him. You do not need to hide your pain or pretend that everything is okay. Jesus welcomes you exactly where you are. He understands the weight you are carrying, even when you cannot find the words to explain it.
When your heart feels overwhelmed, bring your worries to Jesus. When you feel discouraged, bring Him your disappointment. When you feel weak, remember that you do not have to depend on your own strength. You can find peace and rest in His presence.
The rest Jesus promises in Matthew 11:28 is more than simply physical relief. It is the deep peace that comes from knowing you are not alone and that your life is safely in God's hands. Even when you cannot see what is ahead, you can choose to trust Jesus with your future.
Today, take a moment to release the burdens you have been carrying. Give Jesus the fears you cannot control, the questions you cannot answer, and the pain you have been holding inside. You may not see every situation change immediately, but you can experience His presence in the middle of it.
If you are weary today, remember the simple invitation of Jesus:
Come to Him. Rest in Him. Trust Him.
