Look to God for Your Help
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”
Reflection
Psalm 121:1-2 reminds us where our true help comes from. When life feels uncertain and you do not know where to turn, this passage directs your heart toward God—the Creator of heaven and earth.
There are moments when you may feel like you need an immediate answer. You might be facing a difficult decision, carrying a personal burden, or wondering how a situation will work out. In those moments, it is natural to look for solutions everywhere. Yet this Psalm encourages us to first lift our eyes toward the Lord.
The words, “My help cometh from the Lord,” express a simple but powerful truth: God is not distant from your struggles. You can bring your questions, fears, and needs before Him in prayer and trust Him for the guidance you need.
Looking to God does not mean ignoring practical steps or responsibilities. It means remembering that you do not have to depend entirely on your own understanding. God can give you wisdom for the next step and strength to continue when the way ahead is unclear.
Perhaps today you are waiting for direction. Instead of allowing uncertainty to overwhelm you, take a quiet moment to pray. Ask God to guide your thoughts, establish your steps, and help you recognize His wisdom.
The God who made heaven and earth is greater than the situation you are facing. Whatever today brings, you can look to Him with confidence and say, “My help comes from the Lord.”
Takeaway: When you need help or direction, lift your eyes to God and trust Him to guide your next step.
